God really answers doubt quick and fast. when i posted my last entry, it was on a saturday morning.. and after that i went to church, still full of doubts in my heart. i met up with my cell group and i saw that pei zhi was carrying this book by Rick Warren (its the one much touted in Christian stores - the title just slipped me for this while) and i asked her if i could look at it. i read the first page and though i dont exactly remember very clearly what it was said inside, the gist of it goes that all my worries are unnecessary and self-centered; its about me, myself and i. well and that i should stop thus and focus on what
God wants me to do with my life, not what
I want. it was amazing. i closed the book after reading the second paragraph of the first chapter, and i promised myself (and God, of course) that once i cleared all my literature books to read this semester, i will devote my time to studying that book. so that's what hy meant, i suppose, in my chatter flooble box.
anyway, as i promised rebecca i'll post this.. here it is.
The Shakespearean Sonnet SequenceXX
A woman's face with nature's own hand painted,
Hast thou, the master mistress of my passion;
A woman's gentle heart,
but not acquaintedWith shifting change, as is false women's fashion:An eye more bright than theirs, less false in rolling,Gilding the object whereupon it gazeth;
A man in hue all hues in his controlling,
Which steals men's eyes and women's souls amazeth.
And for a woman wert thou first created;
Till Nature, as she wrought thee, fell a-doting,
And by addition me of thee defeated,
By adding one thing to my purpose nothing.
But since she prick'd thee out for women's pleasure,
Mine by thy love and thy love's use their treasure.
the italics were just what i was mentioning to you, beck! =) oh and guess what? after i met you, i went to yih genki sushi for lunch with my jc friends and who should i see there with a girl and roses and presents?
