it was my first day of school today. yeah well. nothing much to say.
had science fiction and fantasy lecture and saw quite a bit of people that i knew and recognized. the lecturers were priceless! firstly, we were bombarded by a lady who stood there talking as if a very train or jet was flying right behind her back! sigh. to make it even better, the other lecturer from the same module was this middle-aged man who, when he spoke, felt as if the words were weights falling from the sky to the ground. his accent is thick (he's an indian, and i'm not trying to be racist here) but the contrast between the way the two lecturers speak is practically worlds apart. the only saving grace is that the two of them are humourous, in their own way. yeah.
i just hope the lecturers for other modules speak..
normally.bought a u2 cd today from the nus bazaar. just listened to it and didnt think it that fantastic. thought that coldplay is better. i'm not trying to be biased here. oh wells. but bj claims that u2 is arguably the best known and respected alternative band.. the newspaper's forum section talked about the band as one "that time and again speaks up against hegemonic values, and fights for individual justice", as well as being "an icon of individual empowerment". big words, big icon, big idea..
suddenly i feel overwhelmingly tired.
