i'm back from canada! it was a good trip - restful, relaxing and fabulous. being gone only for two weeks i find sitting in front of a computer and blogging a little strange. but then again, my entire routine is upside down. its 830am right now and i'm normally never up at this unearthly hour? haha oh well.

i saw many new things over there.. for eg:
wild bears, elks, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, squirrels, chipmunks etc! they were so lovely, esp the bears. do you know how difficult it is to be able to spot a bear in its wild?! and we managed to spot at least err 8 to 10! amazing. guess coz they just woke up from their winter hibernation and are all hungry, scouring for food.

i even saw about 6 rainbows! they were so beautiful. twice i saw double rainbows, side by side. and standing there staring at the rainbows i get all tingly about God's promise to noah and us. i'm starting to love rainbows. =)

then we went to many lakes, and falls. the lake i esp like is morraine lake, and the fall - athabasca fall. mum wanted to give me the name athabasca.. haha. i told her that its ridiculous because the key reason why i'd want an christian name is for easy remembrance and pronunciation. (not that i ever forgot my name, i'm referring to others)

i just cant understand how everything seemed to happen in a whirlwind and now i'm back home, in hot humid smelly spore. the one thing i miss the most about canada is the weather. its excellent. the boys esp loved it when they are playing soccer. imagine. playing soccer in airconditioned fields among fresh grass, no hot sun bearing down on you but a bright lovely day, the mountains looking down upon you.. wow. trust me, its a different experience altogether.

we didnt manage to go skiing in whistler. blackcomb mountain was closed the week we wanted to ski. we were rather disappointed but the guys went mountain biking, and some girls + adults went atv-ing. it was quite fun! esp when i took over the wheels to drive. haha it was a great time and we saw our first two bears there! the terrain was no joke, even seasoned drivers like aunty gim and aunty pru were very careful but all in all, everyone enjoyed the ride.

some other day in whistler, xiang and i signed up for canoeing. the scenery was awesome from the canoe, made you feel so small in comparison. the water was rather gentle but as we signed up for the 2 or 3 hr one, our arms were so tired while paddling. but it was a tremendously good experience.

after whistler, we left for jasper - a small town in neverneverland. xiang celebrated her bday there.. but she fell sick on her bday itself. was qt sad la.. we were even supposed to go horseback riding but it had to be cancelled. =( even the bday dinner was postponed to another day. on the way to jasper, i lost my headphones and i was so sad la. oh well. got to go buy soon.

we left jasper for banff. we all loved the place we stayed in banff, though it was the most remote and inaccessible place ever. it was secluded, yes, and there was no hp reception until we went out to the town area and internet connection was to be used on the owner's kindness but well. we just loved it. it was quaint and lovely. i'll forever retain that place in my memory. also, it was over there one night when i finally saw my star-filled sky, together with the aurora borealis. i just took out a chair, dragged it under the starlit sky and gazed. =)

after banff, we drove all the way down to vancouver. slept one night, spent the next day shopping like mad and then went back to the hotel to pack whatever last minute things we had and the children left for the airport at midnight. the adults stayed on for their alaska cruise. *envious* so pple, i'm truly sorry if some things i bought for you seem small and err.. or maybe i just didnt buy anything for you at all.. the prices there were exorbitant, there was added 14% tax on every item you buy. if you still want to include the currency difference, it will be even worse. i'm sooooooooo sorry k? and i'll try my hardest hardest to make it up to you when i go on my next holiday. =) you can ask xiang how hard i tried. =P

ok there! that's it about my holiday. =)

a silent thanks to God and my mum for making it all possible.

every day is a new day ♥
